Computer & Networking Technology Program with a
completion time of 60 academic weeks
Pioneer Pacific College goal is to provide the broadest possible preparation for our students to fulfill significant responsibilities and answer the challenges of the computing and networking industry. Students will study computer hardware, operating systems, and applications. They will learn how to remove, install, debug, and troubleshoot all major system and networking components. They will also learn the functions and interactions of those components. Networking and Internet topologies will be profiled and examined, so that the student is familiar with the design, structure, and layout of networking systems. The impact of the Internet on local area networks and business operations and communications will be delineated.
Also, students will learn to work with industry-standard applications programs, and will understand the use of application programs in computer systems and in the world of business. The Microsoft family of operating systems will be covered extensively, so that students are able to effectively deploy and support those industry-standard platforms. Networking via Windows as well as Linux are profiled, with the course work and significant self-study preparing students for the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), the A+, Network+, and I-Net+ certification tests - even the coveted Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification! Completion of this degree program should result in graduates who are able to exercise leadership in their field, advance professionally, and realize a rewarding career.
