Skidmore CollegeMicrosoft Windows Professional Engineer (A+, Net+, MCP, MCSE)From PC basics and diagnostics forward to various levels of learning in Windows 2000, each program has been carefully designed to help the student gain the knowledge and skills to start to qualify for the various and prestigious industry certifications. Students will learn how to install and configure PC hardware such as disks, memory and network adapters, and to install operating systems such as Windows and DOS. The program will also cover diagnosis and troubleshooting of typical problems with hardware and operating systems. Students will learn how to install Microsoft Office, set up printing and troubleshoot common problems relating to Microsoft Office and e-mail. The curriculum also introduces concepts of computer networking, including LANs and WANs, TCP/IP and the fundamentals of network administration. The MS Network Technician program helps students prepare for examinations, which lead to the A+ and Network+ Certifications, which are industry-wide, vendor neutral programs developed and sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). These credentials recognize a higher level of training in the service and support field. This program prepares students for employment in jobs involving the service and support and networking of personal computers. Length of Program: 18 weeks in the day program or approximately 39 weeks part-time in the evening program. |
